Forensic toxicology is the application of toxicology for purposes of the law. Forensic toxicologists detect the presence or absence of drugs or poisons and then attempt to interpret the results within the context of the investigation. This course is structured to provide the basic concepts of analytical chemistry as it applies to drug and body fluid analyses. A series of case studies will be used in this course.

By the end of this course, the participants will be able to:
• Understand the Basic principles of Toxicology.
• Understanding and categorizing some different types of poison
• Participants will be able to explain the mechanism of drug action as well as the fate of the drug/poison in the body.
• Participants will comprehend the nature of toxicological investigations conducted in forensic laboratories. and to write a forensic toxicologist report
