The discovery of the DNA structure in 1869 was a major breakthrough that foster medical research. Since then, molecular biology applications have become the center of the current innovation of research. The central key of molecular biology is the Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR).

Accordingly, this curse will highlight the history of PCR then moving to the basics of RNA extraction, primer designing, cDNA Synthesis and RT-PCR.

Afterwards, the curse will focus on the importance of the PCR and different types of RT-PCR before turning to the basic concepts of the Next-generation Sequencing Technology.

The attendees will have deep knowledge of the current and future aspects of the applications of the PCR.
