Introduction to Forensic Toxicology

Forensic science is an important component of the criminal justice system. Forensic scientists examine and analyze evidence from crime scenes and other locations in order to develop objective findings that can support in the investigation and prosecution of criminal perpetrators or clear an innocent person of suspicion. The course will explain the scientific principles and techniques behind the work of forensic scientists and will show numerous case studies from around the world.

By the end of this course, the participants will be able to:
• demonstrate an understanding of how forensic scientists operate and use scientific evidence in a legal context.
• Understanding the different types of evidence
• Gain knowledge and understanding of the relationship between the forensic sciences and the law
• Understand the methods and principles of forensic investigations and how forensic science can be applied in criminal investigations.
• Gain a basic understanding of the history of forensic sciences how forensic science developed and its roles in solving crimes
